Come Over To Lithuania And Help Us!

On his second missionary trip, Paul had a vision during the night of a man standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Paul and his companions responded by going at once to Macedonia.  As a result, new churches were established at Philippi, Thessalonica, and Berea. [Acts 16:6–17:15.]

We at FUMC have also received a call to “come over and help us.” This call was delivered, not in a vision, but in person by Pastor Remigijus Matulaitis and the people of our partner church, in Kaunas, Lithuania. We will respond to that call with a mission trip to Lithuania from August 2 - August 13, 2012 This will be the 4th mission trip to Lithunania and we are excited to be able to be in ministry with our brothers and sisters in Kaunas once again.

In just over 10 years, God has transformed Kaunas UMC from a 50-year-old memory to a church where the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and the sick, poor, and imprisoned are cared for by loving Christians. We, at FUMC, have been privileged to be part of this transformation through our prayer, our financial support, and our mission trips. Pastor Remigijus has asked us to help them with the following ministries:

• Vacation Bible School for children
• Vacation Bible School for adults
• Women’s Support Group
• Medical Home visits to Shut-ins
• Music at Kaunas UMC and other churches in Lithuania
