Ongoing Sunday Morning Groups | Mid-Week Groups | Bulletin Bloopers

We are a large church made up of small groups. We understand that growing one's faith requires the support, attention and nurturing that only small groups can provide. So, we offer short-term and long-term classes to allow you to connect with others as you walk together on your faith journey. If you have a suggestion for a small group that you do not see listed, or if you would like help connecting with a small group or class, please contact the church office, (434) 296-6193.

WOMENS’ BIBLE STUDY (Room 208)
A Beth Moore study: To Live in Christ:  This is a ten week video/discussion study tracing Paul's life from childhood to martyrdom, looking at how the apostle's life can give us a renewed sense of purpose in God's plan.  Paul’s undying passion for Christ continues to inspire and challenge those with a deep spiritual hunger for the things of God. Participants will be greatly refreshed by the obvious mercy of God that causes those who have failed God to repent and serve God wholeheartedly and effectively.  For more information contact Mary Bentley at 293-3263.

DISCIPLE III: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE  (Room 312/313)
REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE is prepared for those who have completed BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. Resident in the title is the driving idea in this study--the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. The word You in the title is meant to be heard both in its singular form (the individual) and in its plural form (the community). We are a community of memory. Participants in this thirty-two-week study will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and will read the thirteen letters traditionally attributed to Paul. To establish the historical context in which the prophets spoke for God, daily reading assignments also draw on the books of Deuteronomy through Chronicles. Study of the prophets will follow their historical sequence rather than their biblical sequence. The dating of Paul’s letters influences the sequence of their study. Several themes weave their way through the study: the call to remember, the call to repentance, the need for renewed vision (eyes to see, ears to hear), and the place of community. Pat MacNicoll leads.

Classes offered at other times during the week
TUESDAY EVENINGS: DISCIPLE I: We are surveying  the congregation for anyone who would be interested in becoming a part of a new DISCIPLE I Class that would meet on Tuesday evenings.  DISCIPLE I: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY uses biblical language and images and draws upon the work of scholars to aid understanding of the Bible.  This study requires reading large portions of Scripture each week and is based on careful study and preparation. During the course of thirty-four weeks, groups will move through the biblical stories of Creation to the New Jerusalem. . If this interests you, call Pat MacNicoll at 589-5956 (e-mail)
